Windy Point Project

The 62 MW Windy Point project will be constructed on a contiguous 2240 acres of private farmland currently under lease. Wind testing on the site commenced January, 2006 and to date, wind capacities have shown to be better than the Oldman River project.

The construction of the project could commence as early as 2010, with construction completed by 2011.  The Windy Point project is being developed and constructed with our joint venture partner, Mainstream Renewable Power Limited.

Once built, this project could have the potential to produce electricity for approximately 19,000 homes, and the ability to displace approximately 130,000 tonnes of greenhouse gases (GHG) annually*.

* Based approx. 10,000kW annual household consumption and 0.34 T/MWh Co2 emissions for a gas fired plant and 1.0 T/MWh for a coal fired plant displacement with a 50/50 coal/gas split
